PIPELINES
Risk analysis of
hazardous pipelines – Pipelines are an efficient way of transporting
hazardous materials such as hydrocarbons, but release of hazardous materials has
the potential to cause injuries and fatalities to offsite population, damage to
assets and the environment. Assessing the potential impact and damage is the
first step in managing hazards. Risk analysis results in a risk profile
(location risk contours) along the pipeline route which may exhibit risk
focusing in the areas of pipeline bends. By identifying public, legal,
reputational and the environmental liabilities, Risk Support, will propose
measures and offer guidance on how to minimise risk.
Risk analysis of marine
operations related to two Single Buoy Moorings (SBMs) for transferring
oil from tankers to the shore, risk analysis of pipeline transport to the
Tank Farm and to Kipevu Oil Terminal, and risk analysis of the storage of
products at the Tank Farm.
